   Of or pertaining to Bologna. -- n. A native of Bologna.

   {Bolognese school} (Paint.), a school of painting founded by
      the Carracci, otherwise called the Lombard or Eclectic
      school, the object of which was to unite the excellences
      of the preceding schools.
