Butterine \But"ter*ine\, n.
   A substance prepared from animal fat with some other
   ingredients intermixed, as an imitation of butter.

         The manufacturers ship large quantities of
         oleomargarine to England, Holland, and other countries,
         to be manufactured into butter, which is sold as
