(a) A dark, crystalline, igneous rock, chiefly pyroxene
with labradorite.
(b) Coarse-grained basalt.
(c) Diabase.
(d) Any dark, igneous rock composed chiefly of silicates
of iron and magnesium with some feldspar. --
