Carte \Carte\ Quarte \Quarte\, n. [F. quarte, prop., a fourth.
   Cf. {Quart}.] (Fencing)
   A position in thrusting or parrying, with the inside of the
   hand turned upward and the point of the weapon toward the
   adversary's right breast.
