Handicap \Hand"i*cap\, v. t. [imp. & p. p. {Handicapped}; p. pr.
   & vb. n. {Handicapping}.]
   To encumber with a handicap in any contest; hence, in
   general, to place at disadvantage; as, the candidate was
   heavily handicapped.
